Housing Decisions

Last night I told Jim and Cherie that I was searching for apartments and that I looked at one earlier in the day and mostly liked it. It will be a fund-stretcher, though.

Me: Yeah, so I was looking in the listings and saw this one and the price so I thought I'd check on it.
Cherie: My fried once rented a trailer. It was like $500 a month.
Me: Oh really? [considers for a moment]
Well, they did have a listing for a trailer to rent for $450 in the paper.
Jim and Cherie: No.

And then I apologized. There's something embedded in my brain that makes me think it's fine to live in a trailer. After three years of being taught some class via Jim and Cherie, maybe I haven't changed. Maybe I'm still that same girl who took one step in this house and looked around and said, "Hot dang!"

But I suppose they have my best interest in mind, one that doesn't permit me to live too close to sex offenders.
